Good review, the heavy weight of this case is not a big deal as long as you don't have to hold it a lot.
I like the design and it looks like it has good airflow too. The SSD Hot-Plug Bay is a sweet little extra.
All I have right now is CoolerMaster cases. I like what they give you for the money, and although they aren't ~Lian Li all Aluminum~ wonder boxes, they work hard for your respect with lots of features.
    They're also quite affordable,.........

I have stated before recently, "I loath plastic and steel cases." And following that statement was, "But I would buy this". This is an outstanding example of what can be achieved with plastic and steel. The styling is readily apparent, but is so restrained and stealthy that it demands respect. This is the nicest case Cooler Master has released since the ATC 840. It is a return to sophisticated styling; none of that adolescent Cosmos or HAF-crap. I want this, which means it's awesome for everybody.

I think the Cosmos line has some of the best, most sleek looking cases of all time! I hate the HAF series from a aesthetic standpoint, but Cosmos? I bought the lackluster Cosmos 1000 simply for its sports car like design.

Tell ya what: remove the hideous handles from the top and bottom of the case, and I'll try to take the Cosmos more seriously. With the handles, it's something you'd find in your bathroom; a cross between a magazine stand and a towel rack.

I personally find the handles to be nice to look at, but to each his own.

It's the biggest reason I can't stand the Cosmos. Those handles are like a cheap luggage rack mounted to the top of budget sports coupe. Without them the design would be much more sleek.

I totally agree with you and I am also not a big fan of plastic and steel let me ask you this if the blue accents and colr change fans were removed from the MK-1 would you have liked it better?
well maybe not the fans as that lighting can be shut off The reason I ask is I belive these two cases the storm that is stand toe to toe in value and features

The answer is "no". These two cases don't even compare in my opinion.

Lighting and fans aren't a factor. Those are items I regularly customize. They are "automatic throw-away" items right from the box. The contours of the chassis, the texture, the symmetry: these are important factors. I didn't comment on the MK-1 review because I couldn't find anything "nice" to say about it.

Aesthetically, the MK-1 has to lose that chunky honeycomb side panel grill, those bulky Tonka-Toy feet, and the unnecessary tire-tread dimples on the front bezel. From the beginning of the mesh, back, the top bezel is okay. The I/O and fan control look like crap though, much in common with the NZXT Phantom, another case on my "plastic teenage raver still in high school living at home with no job" list. Internally it's okay.
