    Default OCZ RevoDrive Hybrid 1TB

The OCZ RevoDrive Hybrid comes in a huge 1TB capacity and promising outrageous performance numbers by virtue of the latest SandForce controller; the best of both worlds, as it were. Can it deliver the golden trifecta of speed, capacity, and value?

A 5,400 RPM platter drive on it,...........what would a faster drive do performance wise if attached?
I wonder if they'll ever sell just the card with the cache drive and let us put our own platter drives onto it?

I don't think there's a need to be honest. It's stinking fast as it stands. Plus you gotta factor in the heat produced, vibrations, weight, etc.

It would not be faster. They probably will make a pcie cache drive that can pair with any hdd we want. they already do this with sata 3 synapsis drive

The reason why I asked my question is that we see a real world difference between 5,400 and 7,200 RPM drives in our systems already.
Seems like a logical choice to use a faster drive on this card. The heat factor may be and issue, or the extra power required for the faster rotation may come into play as well.

You're right about it already being "Stinky-Fast" though.

(and it ~was~ a good review)

ALL the speed comes from the ssd none of it comes from the hdd unless the hdd were faster than the ssd which cannot ever happen. you could have raptors attached and the speed would never change.

jake maybe it should be pointed out that in comparison to the hdd only the 4k performance is stellar not necessarily in comparison to a ssd in which it is actually lacking somewhat look at my kingston 120 4k to see what i mean:

It would have been really great if they would have been able to use the 600GB 10,000 rpm VelociRaptor, but it's still one fast drive for $500!
