    Default NZXT Hale82 750W and 850W

We're looking at the NZXT Hale82 750W and 850W power supplies, units that cater to the mid-range market by claiming to offer solid features and performance at reasonable prices. Let's take a closer look at these NZXT units and see if that's true.

This company is growing in reputation daily.
These PSU's look to be OK to me. SeaSonic has a hand in their design too.
And I still believe that SeaSonic makes the best PSU's on the market.

Prices are a bit much, especially when one considers the recently reviewed OCZ-ZT Fully Modular PSU's that debuted for $99.00 not long ago.
To be fair, the OCZ 750W PSU's have gone up in price to $109.00 now.
PSU's as a whole are getting better all of the time.

Thanks for the great review too Jake.

Thanks for the great review Jake

Only have had one problem PSU from NZXT and didn't know it was a problem until after I sold it. Might have been user error on the buyer's part so I wont complain about their units which have served me nicely over the past few years.

I thought that after Seasonic was bought by OCZ, the quality was just irreparably tarnished. Lots of people are still mad about it, haha.

Decent PSUs from NZXT! as far as Seasonic, I did manage to get them to agree to send their new 1000W, it's on it's way to Jake for review!

Very good! I'm glad they're delving into higher powered PSU's now.

Thanks for the review Jake , I have the NZXT 850W unit running 2 560Ti cards and I think it runs very cool and very quiet with plenty of stable power to OC the system.Actually don't really notice the PSU fan at all it is really quiet.Have not really thought about it being anything other than a very good choice for a 850W quality PSU. Also like the way the unit is semi-modular and the type of flatter cables make cable management make it a no brainier for clean builds in a chassis like the NZXT Phantom which is where it is at this time.
Can't really say to much about the price other than for $140 the price is reasonable for a 850W no frills solid 850W PSU.
