Sapphire’s latest peripheral is the VID-2X. What the VID-2x does is take a single video output from your desktop or laptop and gives you double the pixels across two monitors. This device doesn’t just stretch the same 1080p image across two monitors; it actually scales up to a resolution of 3840x1200 when two 1920x1200 monitors are connected. Sounds intriguing.

First off, awesome review Clayton. I love the tone of your writing. And the line about mooching off mom was very funny. You really have a knack for this. As someone who writes for a living, I can tell you as a certainty that writing skills like yours are few and far between. Keep up the good work!
This would be a nice addition to a laptop docking station or your run-of-the-mill office PC with onboard graphics. However, for less money than this gizmo, you can buy an HD 6870 and run dual monitors off of it with a lot more horsepower at your disposal for work/play. I guess this device is good for someone who owns a prebuilt PC that doesn't want to upgrade their PSU and install a new GPU.

It also good for laptop users. I have a standard issue laptop from work. It runs two screens but it sure would be nice if I had 3. I tried to get the IT guy to buy this but he denied me. I may spend my own money just so i can try it out. Nice review!
