Default ATI's answer to the 7900 GT, the X1900 GT

ATI finally bring us a card to combat the 7900 GT, but does it deliver the goods?

Wish i could but right now i'm up to my neck in arranging AM2 stuff. Expect a lot of DDR2 and AM2 montherboard reviews over the next few weeks. I'll try and squeeze this one in if i can though. Over the next few days i should at least get the 7900GT/GTX reviews done, though.

Hi James, nice test.. but you gotta redo the Oblivion benchmark with the 7900gt. 84.21 is kinda old and performance bugged in oblivion. nvidia recommended 84.25 and that driver was released longside oblivion. still 84.25 was bugged with oblivion. you should get 84.43. i'm fairly sure that the 7900gt will outperform the 1900gt in oblivion too..

    np mate
    try http://downloads.guru3d.com/ or www.nzone.com
the ones on nzone.com (91.28) are a bit sketchy being the first release of the Forceware 90-series..

if you're looking for more on drivers..

And ATI released their Cat 6.5 a couple of days ago

Cheers, i knew about the 6.5's but this review was written quite a few days ago

Anyhow, i'll rebench the 7900 GT with the 84.43's and if there's a noteworthy difference i'll mention it in this X1900 GT and add new results after the conclusion. I didn't think the X1900 GT could get much worse but if it loses in Oblivion.....

give the 91.28 from nzone a go. they should be good with FEAR and Oblivion. dont know about the rest of the games, but there shouldnt be any trouble..

And choose the old controlpanel for the 91.28 driver when you use it..
