    Default Samsung 830 256GB SSD

Samsung’s newest SSD is the Samsung 830 6Gbps model. We will be reviewing the 256GB model today. It's a fully proprietary product by Samsung, so it will be interesting to see what kind of speed numbers it can put up.

that sammy is awesome. despite the vantage score, i bet we have quite a robust drive here. more and more manufacturers seem to be pushing FW for endurance in certain key areas (i notice a marked upswing in enterprise class users looking toward consumer class ssds as a cost effective alternative to enterprise class ssds. again, here, with this in mind, the sammy performance is no different). this is a top class drive.

Just bought one today at fry's 256GB for 289.99. Wasn't advertised online, I originally went to buy the 128GB Plextor M3 after seeing Mr.Gates' review of it, but happened to see this and couldn't pass up such a good deal on a 256GB. Got the last one!

This drive scored either good or fantastic scores throughout.
So they throw down these really good scores with the only fully proprietary SSD on the market.
This proves that anything can happen in this segment and the sky really is the limit here.
The fact that we're finally seeing some healthy price drops and that the technology continues to improve so much is a good sign.
