    Default Cooler Master Storm Trigger

The Cooler Master Storm Trigger mechanical keyboard sports the vaunted Cherry MX switches, comes with fully backlit keys, and a competitive price tag of $120. Sounds pretty good from the spec sheet. Let's take a closer look and see how it fares in action.

Good review, Jake. I'd consider this keyboard if it weren't for the giant wrist guard and spotty LED lighting. It these issues were corrected, or if the price drops significantly, I'd buy the board. Until then, I'll stick with what I have and save up for a Deck at some point.

I like the keyboard, I just think CM set the price a little high in light of the few quirks the board has. On a positive note, at least this model is fully backlight and it works well.

The other boards we have are around the same price, so within the next 2-3 weeks we hope to have at least 3 more back lit mechanical board reviews, I have been keeping busy getting samples from several different manufactures, so hopefully we will find boards that fit every ones need and price range.

Thanks, Stan, for all your hard work. The reviews have been really awesome and informative. Please let me know if I can give you guys a hand with editing. FYI, I'll be on vacation the 15th thru the 22nd of this month.

Jake, I would find it interesting if you would expand a little on the switch types by making reference to other makes of keyboard. I currently use a G15 (the orange backlit one from Logitech) about which I know very little about the technical details. If you know this one then some comparatives might be nice and useful too for those future reviews. Just a thought

Grumpy, that's something I may be able to do, thanks for the suggestion. The only issue is that I don't have a G15 on hand, for example, to pull apart and show in comparison. So I may have to just mention its tech, without any visuals. Most are dome/overlay designs, not mechanical switches. Apples and oranges, as it were. But I do have a high-end non-mechanical board coming for review, so I'll see what I can do to illustrate the differences when I work on that one!

I've been running the G-15 Orange also for about 2 years and really like it for a non mechanical.

Still not up on all the functions on it, And more and more software supporting its features.
The LCD a big plus for me until I get a second strictly App monitor on the side.
Other half has a Dell mechanical and like mine better, Although used to it now.
