Hi Guys,
The VisionTek Racer series SSDs have featured the latest SandForce SF-2281 and impressive Toshiba Toggle MCL NAND. This should translate into big numbers, but we will have to get it on the bench and see. Let’s dive in.
The VisionTek Racer review is now live. VisionTek Racer 480GB SSD | Pure Overclock

Good review Norman. This is a nice drive even if it does cost a bit much. I found it online for $689.00 with free shipping. Here: Visiontek Racer 480 GB
Maybe the price will continue to fall.

Nice review Norman, thanks. A little to expensive for me. As Neil said, maybe the price will come down.

Seeing you can get two real good 240G SSD's at $500, this is just too expensive IMO. I do have to say , the drives perform well and Visontek does a nice job wih SSD's.

Thanks guys I look at it like this ..
x2 240gb will take both intel 6.0 slots @ 686.00 @ amazon
1x 480 will take 1 intel 6.0 slot 696.00 @ amazon with is that 1 Intel 6.0slot worth when you need to add aonther drive?

Great review Norman and I am sure the VisionTek Racer 480GB is a great SSD, but at that price I have to pass on it. The Plextor MS5 512 is only 437.00 on Amazon and the Crucial 512 is only 399.00. The Plex has a 5 year warantee and the Crucial has a 3 year.I am going to wait to see if the new Sandforce Barefoot 3 controllers are really as great as they are hyped up to be, then I will make my decisions.

You guys have to understand that VisionTek entered the game late, just as prices started to fall, every other company sold their 480GB and 512GB drives for the same price VisionTek is asking, they deserve to make some cash before dropping the price, plus their using the more expensive and better performing Toshiba Toggle MLC Nand Flash
