    Default His 7970 x

Not only does this HIS 7970 X come with a Turbo overclock among the highest on the market, it also sports the company's latest IceQ X2 custom cooler. And if history is any indication, we expect very big things from this card, as HIS typically produces some very cool-running Radeon cards. The 7970 X also has a couple surprises in store for those wanting Eyefinity gaming out of the box, up to Eyefinity 6 in fact. It's a very special premium graphics card, but the question is: Can the HIS 7970 X beat the GTX 680? Click through to find out.

This is one wicked GPU. Nice to see an AMD card on top of the charts again. Two of these in crossfire with 6 displays would be very, very cool (and very expensive)!

ok it is a fast card, if my calculation correct the avg frame rates are about 3-5 frames higher than the 680 but can you tell the different in real world?
$600 is still a lot of bread.

It would take benchmarks to tell that kind of speed difference, and both it and the 680 are so fast that real world experience would be the same.
Can't afford either, but love to have them both.

You miss the point, Tony. As my review mentions, if you only want framerates/value, keep looking. This card is for someone with a very healthy budget who wants the best AND wants Eyefinity gaming. It's a waste otherwise. But for someone who wants that uber high-rez gaming glory, then it's worth the money. The accessories alone are worth $100 retail.

No I got your point. I just try to justify the 3-5 fpm. I know hardcore gamers will spend all the hard earned cash to feed their addiction. But if you say the accessories cost alone $100, then Sapphire just up sold the DP adaptor.

You'll see more than 3-5 fps on a multi monitor set up. That's what this card is built for. It's for the guy running at least triple high res monitors. We know he has the cash because he has all those expensive screens. He will buy two of these to get the most out of the monitors.
