Intro This has probably happened to most of you: while sitting at your computer, playing a game or scoping out some new hardware you wish you could own, it occurs to you that it has been a while since you ran all of the maintenance procedures for your computer. Rather than performing the needed maintenance, you justify putting it off for fear of running out of time during the maintenance procedure or simply not knowing how to perform the proper maintenance. We all have busy lives, and it’s high time that a flexible, all encompassing piece of software came our way that helps with this. Enter System Mechanic, (now in it’s 12th rendition). This super flexible software kit involves patented maintenance technology designed specifically to keep everything in your operating system (OS) running as smoothly and easily as possible, (even with your SSD). Having been around for approximately 15 years now, the bar has been set pretty high for this version of the software, so let’s see what it delivers.
As this was a digital copy there is no packaging to speak of so we’ll be getting right to the software itself. About iolo Technologies, LLC: Founded in 1998, iolo technologies, LLC (www.iolo.com) innovates patented technology and award-winning software that repairs, optimizes, and protects computers and digital devices. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles with global sales presence in 33 countries and products in 11 languages. Since 1998 tens of millions of people have used iolo’s products for their PC optimization, security, and data recovery needs. Today iolo is widely recognized by both consumers and industry experts as a worldwide leader in the system utility software market. Privately held and self-funded, iolo has been regularly recognized by industry authorities for its consistent growth since inception.
The company’s product line, distinguished by its flagship performance optimization suite System Mechanic®, maintains a reputation of first-to-market technology and differentiated effectiveness. iolo’s products are carried in more than 23,000 retail storefronts around the world, including Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Costco, Target, Staples, and Office Depot, and its software can also be purchased from all major e-tailers, as well as a multitude of distributors and resellers in the U.S. and abroad. iolo’s vision is to produce powerful, effective, and sophisticated software that is approachable by both novices and experts, enabling them to enjoy full computing potential by keeping devices running fast, stable, and problem-free. With a significant and growing patent portfolio and ongoing focus on R&D-driven product development, iolo is well positioned to both maintain and grow both its technological and market leadership position.

Thanks guys! It really is an amazing tool: to date, since I have had it installed there have only ever been two or three kb-size fixes that have needed to be done after the initial sweep and clean. This thing is persistent, but my system performance never takes a hit from it. Even in monitoring hardware usage this thing is hardly even an "honorable mention"'s worth of system resources. Really good stuff and I WILL be renewing this sub when it runs out.

I was really impressed with the SSD optimizing tool. No reformat! Curious though, is there any freeware that does about as good as this suite?
