Default Casecom Halcones CL-86 ATX Full Tower Review

Usually when shopping for an ATX full tower, you look for the big names in the industry. The reasons for this are pretty apparent: reputation, reliability, service after the sale, build quality, feature set, and the list goes on; but what if we told you that you don't always have to go after the big name and spend excessive amount of cash to have your cake and eat it, too? Casecom is here to show you that their newest ATX full tower, the Halcones CL-86, brings a lot to the table and asks for very little in return.Measuring out at 23" tall, 22" deep and roughly 9" wide, it certainly seems to fit the size requirement. The question is, "does everything else add up to a rewarding and clean building experience?" Let's jump in and find out.

Good review Mike, thanks. Case is pretty similar to HAF X with some improvements.

I was genuinely surprised with this case, especially given the dodgy nature of their website (Casecom that is): don't let it fool you, because you'd possibly miss out on a really good bit of hardware. The modder in me is going insane looking at it though, and I really want to see a custom build out of this thing: full window in the side panel, 400mm rad in the front, a 200mm rad in the roof, all done in black, blue and white accents with the case being repainted to match the T.A.R.D.I.S.

Yeah that was very much my impression of this case, but at the same time it is neither. It has managed to retain much of it's own identity in a way that neither case quite matches up to, so I am largely impressed with Casecom's effort here. For them to improve upon this case any further would require engineering dollars that I am fairly certain they don't want to spend at this time, but with movable HDD cages (a-la 600T/750D) and a full side panel window this case could be absolutely perfect for all but the most discerning enthusiast, but even then just having removable HDD cages means that you now have effortless access to the 200mm/2 x 140mm fan mounts, allowing for more radiator expansion or whatever your little heart desires, really. Really a very solid case that I never saw myself comfortably recommending to others... but there it is.
