The Athlon II X2 240e & X3 435 processors signal an expanding mainstream lineup for AMD where value is king and performance for your dollar is a big deal. These chips lack the extreme horsepower of the premium Phenom II CPUs, or even the Intel Core i7's for that matter, but at less than 1/3 the cost, they offer a very compelling option to the mainstream user.
