Default Hate to say this but it is true.

I always had great luck with GPU's . I had 3 6970's and was going to skip the 7 series completely figured the 6970s were plenty. Well i made a huge mistake that i will regret for years. I sold 1 of my 6970's off and used the other 2 in a custom build (Mass Effect -NZXT Switch 810 BUILD). So i was stuck needing cards for my upcoming builds which has a deadline. Any way i owned a Sapphire card a while back and don't remember issues so i went ahead and bought 2 Sapphire Reference 7970's ! Yup there goes over a Grand. 1 card is just Junk in gpu-z it don't show half the sensors. Although it still works it does screen tear etc. And the second one also acts funny as well. Mind you these cards have had hardly any use at all as i haven't set the build up yet they are going in.I always heard Great things about Sapphire till after i bought the cards. Thats when i seen all the threads talking about some coil noise. I never heard that myself but it got me worried. And what do you know i have a totally junk card plus out over 500+ bucks.

Yes it can be RMA's and it is Registered but even that don't Matter. They try every way possible to screw you out of an RMA they can. so finally after a week i have the ticket done,Cards have both been registered since day one . Now they want THE RECEIPT ALSO !!.

This has been the worse Experience with a company in my entire Modding life! I don't dare send them the card because i have heard nightmares where they pick it apart and decline it anyway for whatever excuse they come up with. Lol my Powercolor card started screen tearing once a year ago and it was a simple process. I just sent them my card and they sent me a new one.

What is going on with these companies now? Seems like next they will want a blood sample also.

Besides all that i talked to my buddy who RMA's his Reference Sapphire 7970 and it was a month before he got the card back.

Being such a big name now you would think they realize they are selling to Modders with deadlines / Gamers who need their card to game /Folders that will lose tons of points etc..

Sorry for the Rant but i seen the Sapphire section and just had to say do to my experience with their cards and mostly their Customer service (When the website is even up) my opinion at the moment of the company is a low ball company that sells cheap crap that knows it and will do everything to avoid an RMA that they can.

This is just My experience with Sapphire Maybe yours has been better but seriously i have never seen a card this New just die out. Lets not even mention the Warranty list of dont's that will get your RMA voided also.

Don't believe me? Good Sapphire Support or RMA and read some of the threads! Nightmare after Nightmare and i fall in that category unfortunately at the worse time ever.

Well hope free speech is permitted .And i really hate to down on a company like this but after my experience and my buddies and reading the threads its pretty solid that they got issues in that company.

    Take Care

Sorry to hear about that. Try XFX next time. They have great customer service. I had to RMA a card to them and it was simple. Whole process only took two weeks and I had a brand new card. They sent me a new card even though they couldn't find anything wrong with the one I sent in for coil whine. Talk about cool.

Sapphire is very good with RMA's, if you run into any problems let me know, I have a very good relationship with Sapphire. If you bought the cards at Newegg, return them, and buy either two EVGA GTX680s or two GTX670s.

Its a long story Doctor_Death i can talk more in PM about it if you like.

But how people say they have great customer service i dont get because the process is you have to fill out a ticket first. Website was down 3 times i first tried. Cards have to be registered which they were. so logged in and filled out a ticket waited a few days only to get a reply ok send another ticket with the reciept . I will stop right their as that already is beyond any GPU companies RMA. But my next build already is in huge jeapardy of missing the deadline so i cant trust sending the card in and not finishing the deadline do to them. Lol in the beggining i didnt even mention an RMA i just applied for sponsorship. but not a decline not a yes just an ignore. So thats when i decided to try and RMA the card and started reading threads and talking to friends.

Even if it was overclocked or watercooled a dead 7970 this fast is crazy. Unless some outrageous overclocking but this does not apply to my situation. Its allot of money and its killing me BUT the hassle seems like its easier to somehow get another card. Now thats where another problem comes in. It is a reference card.

I just wish there was a shop i could bring it to and pay to repair it as it must be something small. The card works just not right. The missing readings in Gpu-z are the biggest issue. Choices are trust them to Maybe RMA my card and miss my deadline (Pretty sure not making it at this point anyway) or just use the card for the build and dont show any bechmarks as i already tried and my 6970's whooped them.

Anyway thats all not really angry or anything just in a bad situation is all.

Take care guys and as i said this was me Experience with the company so far. Some could have great results with them.

Sorry to hear about your issues. I had to RMA one of my 5830 Xtremes earlier this year and I had no issues with their RMA system at all. Don't know what else to say. It seems that all companies drop the ball on customer service at one time or another. Unfortunately it happened to you this time.

Never look back. Something might be gaining on you.

Silly question, did you call? If your going to rely on email and service tickets unfortunately you have to call and be a bit more aggressive. Heck, these cards are $1000 and the lack of service is unforgivable.

The cards with the issue shouldn't delay your build as far as photos for the deadline. Your not going to be showing performance results are you ? More than likely I can help you, do you still have the emails they sent you ?

Sorry got busy fixing the Golf Cart for the Wife so havent been on much. Yeah i have the email's from them . Also have the boxes and everything that came in them and a copy og the reciept . Thats they strangly asked for seeing the cards are registered.I rma'd a BFG card and it was a breeze also i later rma'd a 6970 through Gigabyte that was easy also with no questions asked. I would like to explain DR DEATH if your on. I will Pm you . Because it burns me so badly that i paid 1200 for these cards and so wish i stuck with my 6970s because the cards i have a garbage literally. Also Sapphire knows this just from posts all around about coils whining. That points out a problem to me as none of my previous cards ever had a coil whine. Thats not even my problem. But if they knew the cols had an issue why would they sell them to us knowing they would eventually most likely die from the bad coils.

Thought i would Come back to this thread after thinking about it and would like to apolagize for the way i reacted to Sapphire. I got junk cards yeah they shouldnt be dead the time they were dead in but i guess thats just the way it is. Any PC part can be bad even on arrival. I card i am happy to say i stress tested it for the first time so 1 is definently good. The other card well how should i say? Whats the going rate for scrap these days. So one works fine most of the time and the other one is just shot. I really wish i had time and was aware that the Sapphire Reference cards had a bad coil problem because if i knew i wouldnt have wasted my money. But dont be afraid if you have a sapphire reference Model because many of people have them and they still work fine. Any way its not like me to down a Company and i do appolagize for that and this was my first Experience with Sapphire ever and was an extremyl bad one is all. And i have bought many GPU's and unfortunatly this one is one of the first Duds. I did have a Gigabyte card go bad once but that was an extremly fast RMA. And years ago i had a 6800 go bad and same thing another fast RMA. So im just used to simple RMA service is all. For instance my old Vertex 2 SSD just died. I made a ticket and already to ship out.

So Sorry i made this Post. I am sure Sapphire is a good Company and like i said i just got a pair of highly expensive Duds 1 works though (Not well but works) The other the sensors dont work plus it recently causes BSOD when i turn the card on or off on my board. (I have switches to turn lanes on or off)

If you Like you can delete this Thread as any brand i suppose you could get bad cards from.

    Take Care Guys
