I really have no idea,everyone will have their own experience, You could get a set that will OC up to 2800MHz but then you could get a set that wont go past 2600. It really depends on the users...

Using an aftermarket ram cooler wont help any, even putting them under water would have minimal effect on OC'ing. Just noticed you were from MO, glad to have another missourian here!

Im not 100% positive but i think most lappy CPU's are soldered in, so i dont think they can be changed out.
