Just bought the HP w2207h with VGA input and HDMI. I am using the ati radeon 3870 video card, which only has 2 DVI outputs. I tried using a DVI to VGA converter, but when i set my resolution to 1680x1050 (recommended), the monitor automatically adjusts and moves the image about 3 inches to the right and a half inch down. Manually moving the image with the monitor will not move it over far enough, and i cannot move it vertically at all. I have been thinking about using a DVI to HDMI cable, but am not sure if that will actually fix the problem. Any help on what i can do to fix it or will the DVI to HDMI cable work? ![]() Thanks |

Brutal (no offense).
A standard install in Catalyst shouldn't create this issue, and fixing it manually will only move the picture a bit. Sounds like a setup/connector issue. It's worth a try to get an HDMI, make sure you have a DVI/HDMI converter for your 3870 though. |

Yeah, i will give it a shot also, i may also try using a DVI cable instead of a VGA cable with the DVI/VGA converter. Don't know if that would make much of a difference, but it is worht a shot, i have used the converter before, but never the converter on the video card, it has always been at the monitor end...we will see, thanks!

Definitely try that first!!! VGA/DVI is usually your best best. If not, the HDMI.
Good luck, let us know how it goes. ![]() |
