Default Can you overvolt a BFG GTX 260 (55nm) from bios

HI everyone, I was looking to find out if there is a way around not being able to software overvolt a BFG GTX 260. Maybe from bios? I don't know. First go at overvolting any of my cards, and know I cant overvolt through software with this card. Thanks for any light you can shed on the situation.

That's for sure. Welcome to the forum by the way . To help yourself and others help you; you should insert your system specs. It avoids a lot of unnecessary back and forth.

don't worry about him, he's stroller and by gone.

and regarding about your above question, if you can't over volt your card by software then nothing else you can't do about it. To my knowledge, there are not many card support the voltage tweak by software beside Asus. The only way you can do it with your card is do the hard mod.

Thanks for the heads up. Also thanks for the info. I've heard about a tweak using NiBiTor to alter the video card bios to raise the voltage from stock. Have you heard of anything like it? Also a patch for EVGA voltage tuner that alows volt mods to all non evga cards (not that it means it can work on mine) would be nice.

I do heard about Nibitor and flash modded bios but never experience it myself. You have to understand, a reference card has standard VRM, if you over volt them without any adequate cooling then they will have short live. And if you brick the bios then you kiss your card good bye. You're better have a backup your original bios before attempting with bios flashing.

Head over Techpowerup's forum, they have some gurus for video cards modder. Also is a good place to looking for modded bios.
