    Default Just a curious question

So i was looking at sandy bridge compatible mobos and this motherboard has quad sli interface so i wondered, (sorry this might be a slightly repetive topic) If 2 GTX 690s were SLI on the MD230x3 with the GTX 680 as Physx boost. Would this be compatable or possible? Money is not of topic, just a question.

Carl, running two 690s gives you QUAD SLI each 690 has dual chips. I have mine running in Quad SLI

680 physx with two 690 is waste money IMO, you don't need it.

You do not need a 680 for a dedicated PhysX card, I ran the GTX660Ti as a dedicated PhysX card with three GTX680s in Tri-SLI and it worked great, so save yourself some money and go with the GTX660Ti. Also before you spend $2000 on two GTX690s, you should wait and see how good the performance is on the new GTX780s and 770s, which should be released later this month.

I read somewhere, the 780 is based on the Titan and the 770 is based on the 680 architecture. Therefore it wouldn't be a big jump in performance.

No need to shout. Money is a huge ~reality~ for most of us, so we discuss it, and ways to boost our PCs and save some cash while doing it. You may have started this thread, but we all understand that it will be read by a lot of other people who have to think about the money. Forgive us.

    Stan's advice was spot-on.

A brand new series of NVIDIA graphics cards is coming out real soon and they will affect the market and GPU prices too. Don't spend your (you know) without checking them out first Carl.

I would assume that you can't confirm or deny that it's a bad-ass GPU? (if it exists)

However, I CAN confirm that I'm interested in this hypothetical GTX-780 and it's amazing, unconfirmed, performance too!
