I have an ASRock P55 Pro Motherboard and i7-870 sitting on the shelf. I should sell them.

I find it hard to part with really good hardware, thinking that I may need, or want it later on down the line. The result is a room full of old, but good working gear on the shelves.
My wife will probably have a great yard sale when I croak,................

Yeah it isn't bad for a 5-6 year old CPU.

Heres a week 30 x3440 I'm playing around with. Overclocking is pretty terrible on it. Needed 1.4v for 3.8, couldn't even get 4ghz stable at 1.45v and my ram wouldn't run at the full 2400mhz at any setting, had to settle with 2000mhz.. Interestingly at 3.8ghz/1.4v load temps are only a little higher than my week 16 860 @ 4ghz/1.3v.

Not too bad.. Didn't get a great x5670 though and the IHS doesn't seem to be even (re-applied thermal paste 3x). Will be trying my luck with another one.

This is a great illustration of why torturing your CPU isn't worth the return. You have a nice 24/7 OC that produces great results and the CPU is in a comfort zone. Throwing all the added voltage into it produces a gain that would not even be perceptible in usage.

Just upgraded my CPU and swapped the two GTX-570s for a pair of EVGA GTX-760 4GB ACX GPUs. Here's the old and new scores.
