    Thumbs up Operation SB2600K

I usually don't show off system build but I thought you might be interest to be entertained.

Objective: Build a mainstream system for review test rig.

This is going to be a live build project, I'll post pics as components available or as the project progressing.

Let's start off with the mainboard.

Motherboard: ECS - P67H2-A Black Extreme Series
Board's colour scheme is not bad but the firing flames are not my forte and why have to cover up the unique double heatpipe cooler?

So I decided to remove its fascia, it was PITA to clean off the glue residue off the heatsinks. It's all cleaned and put back the "Black Series" badge. IMO, the board is look more bad-ass professional looking board now. As we know, more is not always better.

I had to use goo gone. The glue residue is suppose to soaked but of course I can't do that with the mobo so I had to use a soaked rag to wipe, scrub, wipe, scrub = PITA

So i guess this is gonna be on the wooden test bed you are in the midst of building ? Not worried about all that P67 hype surrounding the flaw with that chipset? Especially when u are gonna paint that heatsink you are sure gonna void that warranty

Yes, that's where it lives, on the bench

No, I'm not worry because this is for test rig and I'm probably only use two hard drives are the most. DVD can stay with the flaw port, the amount of using this drive is very minium and if I have to use more SATA 2 then I have few options:
    1. use USB 3 port with adaptor
    2. use the back eSATA ports
    3. use PCI-E interface SATA 3 card
You miss understood, I'm not painting the heatsink. The heatsink is already have a gunmetal grey to it.

Yeah, the dragon's flames are their theme, some of their boards still have very awful colour.

    Default Hard Drive

Kingston SSDNOW V 64GB is for OS and WD Black 500GB is for Data.

Custom mounting plate is use to suspense the drive under the tech station. If you follow my Tech Station project then you get the idea how this drive is mounted.
