Default [Worklog] Corsair 800D + Airplex Modularity 480

    Hello everyone,
So i have been participating less these days due to work and at the same time working hard on finding a new home for my system. For those who have seen my previous worklog knows that i have been using the TJ07 murdermod setup for awhile now, something like 3years + or maybe 4. I am starting to feel that the murdermod though being a very nice case is starting to show its age as features such as Hotswap bays, USB3.0, cable management holes etc... were not available so I had a long hard thought about what my next case should be and among those shortlisted were:

    Digital storm Aventum
    CaseLabs
    Murdermod MKII (yet to launch)
    Silverstone TJ11
    Corsair 800D

While i will not run thru one by one why the 800D was eventually selected, a lot had to do with product availability, Dimension and if it could fit my Airplex Modularity 480. One thing is for sure, absolutely no one on the net (as far as i know) has a work log that use a Corsair 800D and an Airplex 480. It looks like I am the only one, and it took many hours of reading and searching to confirm if the rad will fit the top of the 800D, there were a couple whom used the Airplex 360. So there was additional risk to take to find out if the 480 would the 800D fit length wise.

I was also getting a little tired with inverted ATX style setup as cable routing is twice harder than normal ATX due to the need for cable extension, to be honest not many photos were taken throughout the build so i will just post what i have, for now i will start with some newly sleeved PCI-E cables

Hey Gavin, I see your photo skill has improved and did you sleeve the cables by yourself because it looks pretty good?

A nice set of sleeved cables in on my list when I start next build. I really want to take the time and do a good job on the cable managment. A new case and sleeved cables are on the list as one item. No point in getting a nice case with ugly cables!

    Hi Bully

I have one of Corsairs blue sleeved kits kits sitting here, they sent it to me for the HX1050W and the Obsidian Series 550D review. which should have been completed by now, but I have to wait for the contractor to finish remodeling my home. All that's left now is the electrical work. so hopefully he'll start that next week. I also hired one of the subcontractors to replace my living room floor, going with Cherry this time around.

    Hi DrD,
How's the renovation coming along? sounds like you have some major work going on there trust that it will turn out well, you have been busy too i guess , have you had a chance to see my email yet?

Hey guys sorry for the lack of updates, work + doing a work log is no joke apologies for the lack of updates as it has been a rollarcoster ride for the last 3-4 weeks. I thought swapping out my hardware and moving it into the 800D was easier than i thought. There were tons of issues that caused those delays. Will elaborate in my subsequent post but meanwhile here are some pictures
