Default Bored out of my Skull W-end build...

Nothing better to do this weekend so I threw something together just for the heck of it. Have not messed with socket 775 in awhile...was pleased with the results of the Q9550. I scaled the clocks back to 3200MHz once inside the case and installed Steam for some game tests. Stellar in most games and plays the latest crop without issues...just wish I had some newer cards on hand as the GTX 295's run too dang hot lol.

Bringing older hardware back to life is fun.
This is a nice looking project.

Thanks - I'm looking for some cards to replace the 295's...something along the lines of 5850's perhaps. I'd be willing to trade the 295's for something.

That's tempting. Those cards are DX10 monsters.

Good news - Just bought two 5850's for a song off ebay to replace the heat monsters and I get DX11 as a bonus.

Oh, it's been up and running for some time now. The 5850's were a fail...Crossfire not supported on the 790i Ultra mb doh! I put the GTX 460's in it and she is purring now. 5850's are going back this morning and I have two Zotac 560ti on the way to go in the main rig. I'll put some more pic's up of both this weekend.

I knew that, but was referring to the Radeon cards. A pair of 460's should make it move right along.
I like to see older systems still up and running well.

I've only got Sniper Elite installed on the rig atm, but it plays the game brilliantly with the 460's. I'm betting FarCry would be the same.
