    Default New Project: FIREm9

Ever since I started building my own computers with my dad at 6 years old, I've always enjoyed watching something I designed and worked on be functionally stable. I still get a rush every time I push the power button for the first time on a new build. A few years ago I started doing custom computers for friends and since my first solo build I have been truly fascinated by computer cases. They seem so simple, but the slightest off measurement and nothing will work. It was a challenge, and I was dead set on developing and making my own computer case some day. Finally, I have the tools and funds needed for me to do this. I just finished all of the renderings and specs on it, and I thought to myself, there is no better place to display the renderings and ask for feedback than at PureOC.
Please tell me what you think! Criticism is not just allowed, it is encouraged. There is no way to get better without being told what is wrong.

The clear box is an acrylic window (probably could figure that out on your own, but you never know)
On the sides, the red decals are acrylic inset with LEDs which will be lit up on boot, and there will be a logo when I design it, but these are the structural renderings.
All fan holes are 120mm, the top 3 are spaced for a 360 rad.

The inside with the top off:

Once again, please take a moment and tell me what you think! It would be greatly appreciated. Im putting a lot of work into this right now, just a few things to square away then I should be able to start the build.

The power supply is the green box at the back of the case, and the sides of the top panel next to the acrylic are to spec for holding a hard drive. I have an optical drive mounted at the back, coming out of the right side panel.

Just a small render update, added in the front logo and just dropped a quick mobo pic on the tray for looks.

Thanks James! Im really excited to start ordering all the parts. I am still waiting on a few things to be ready, but hopefully I can get it all set up soon!

Im having trouble deciding between just a standard gloss spray paint and sending it out to be powder coated. Im just worried that spray paint will come out uneven, and powder coating would look really sweet on this I think.

For now its going to probably just be my current Crosshair setup as I dont really have the funds to do a full PC build. But soon I hope to be putting a 8350 build together.

Picking out my steel and ordering the modding parts hopefully by next week. I have been really busy as of late. Soon my CNC should be up and running then I can start cutting the panels! I dont know about anyone else but I am so extited for this.

So here is a question I have for all of you. What do you all think I should go with for this? I was thinking a matte black, gloss black, matte dark grey, or if I have the cash for it I might black poweder coat it. What do you think?

Well its been a while since my last update, Ive been working hard to get my home made CNC machine finished so I can cut out the panels for the case. I have been testing some paints and found a good very flat black that with a satin clear coat looks great, and sprays straight onto stainless steel. With that said, I have A LOT of spray paint purchased and most of the supplies I need are on the way! My project tray is filling up, slowly but surely. By my estimate, this build should be fully underway and assembled by this time next month at the latest.
Once again, sorry about the delay! Things are very busy on my end with schoolwork, and various other proposals coming my way. I will keep you updated as I get stuff in!
