Default Watercooling - Rampage II Extreme (Watercooled i7 built)

    okay,
so I am in the midst of a system rebuilt and the new system will be watercooled and based around an i7 Rig with the following:

    1. Asus Rampage II Extreme
    2. Intel i7-920
    3. Team Xtreem DDR3 2GBx3 1600mhz

    Watercooling Hardware:
    1. Swiftech GTZ with i7 Retention Bracket
    2. MCP655 (pump) x1
    3. MCR220-QP (Rad) x2
    4. Swiftech MCRES Micro Reservoir
    5. 4870x2 EK WaterBlock

At the moment these are the photos i have and the rest are in the midst of upload. Pardon my poor & ZERO photography skills but i reckon the photos i took are really crap. Especially without a white background.

I guess since the memory controll intergated in the CPU, the NB chip don't run hot like it use to be and Asus assume it unnescessary to water cool it.

I'm sure the CPU run extreme hot with overclocked with HT & Turbo mode enables.

Deton. my NB runs at 36c, so they do run cooler. you do get more accessories with the X48 Rampage, but after owning both, I can say with out a doubt that the X58 is the better board. Bully, what's your time line for completing this build, and are you going to use the same case ?

This next part is off topic, but I thought you guys would like to know that according to Alexa, when Jake and I first took over Pure OC only 33% of people came here for the forums, the rest was for the news, in the last three months we have jumped to 80.09 % of people coming here for our forums. Now that's something we should all be proud of !

36c on with heatsinks is damn good.
WC north/south bridge are un-necsesary for X58 board now if you have good case air flow.
I'm sure Bully loves to have a better case than the current one he has.

    Guys,
thanks for all your positive comments and i really hope that this will be a very positive built, i have plans to post a work log about my overclock experience (settings, timings etc) with i7 & the Rampage hopefully it will be fruitful and will draw more traffic and members into PureOC

I'm currently waiting on the i7 retention Bracket for the GTZ and i hope it arrives this week or latest next week. I will be away this weekend too for a short vacation so there won't be much updates/photos till my Retention Bracket arrives then the continuation of my built

@ Dr D i'm kinda trying to complete my built before the end of Jan'09 as i have work and studies to juggle when Feb'09 begins

About my case i dont have much intention to change but i have something like murderBox.com TJ-07 reverse ATX/BTX Style Case in mind, otherwise i wont bother changing
But the price of those cases is way out of wack!!! Too expansive! That Mountain Mod cases are nice too but MurderBox really is a cut above the rest!

90 CFM, 19 Dba and 2000 rpm....... Nope those specs dont seem right. I guess the middle one is incorrect.... or the middle one is the only one right...... But they look good though

i agree with you those specs just seem to good to be true, I seriously doubt that kinda noise level push 90cfm totally doesnt make sense... even the guy at the store told me that he heard that apparently there is a printing error. But i looked up cooler master's website and they posted this fan as well

    http://www.coolermaster.com/products...ate=36&id=4355

anyhow i already own a pair of non-LED versions and the box indicates 69 CFM just buying them again for my 2nd Rad
They are nice and quiet thats why

The last time I bought fans from them claiming to push 110cfm it was a bunch of crap, they were lucky it they pushed 70cfm. By the way, I finally ordered the Bloodrage ! it should be here tomorrow. Bully, this is all your fault,. you had to start another build, now I have to find a case to go with the board lol
