Don't you get bore of looking at the same old stock colour keyboard and mouse?
I do.
So I dediced to dazzle up the Logitech MX320 keyboard and mouse to an eye-candy glitter delicious look.
Here's stock keyboard and mouse.
The mouse; the facing need to be removed from the top cover because its sides won't be painted.
The top cover need to be seperated first before the facing can be removed.
Four bottom screws gotta to be removed to access the face's screws under neath the cover.
Whoala....face-off.

Got all keys removed off the top cover. I find it is better to remove them than masking them.
Masked off the area where I don't want to paint.
The keyboard and mouse didn't have any paint on it except the logo and some text labling. That's good sign.
So I don't have to do a lot of sanding, just enough to remove those lables. They're ready for primer & paint, next!

Of course I will with the arcylic laquer. This thing is harder and more durable than clear paint.
The paint shouldn't rub off easily if you have a good prep base and make sure each coat is totally dry before you apply the second coat or third...etc.
BTW, did you use proper paint that is suitable for plastic?
Because plastic obsorb paint differently than metal.

The most common mistake people make when they do spray paint are cutting corner, over spray it and don't proper surface preperation and drying time.
We're all know most paint will go on any surface but will it stays forever is another story.
To get the professional results we have to do it properly and patient. Trust me, I had have cut corners before and the results didn't last for a day and I had to stripped it all off and do it proper way. Well I've learned from my mistake but now from time to time I'm still rushing it, gotta to learn to be more patient and slow down.

I don't know either....I think some of you might like it and some don't. I'll post some painted pics at stage one soon.
Little hint. I have another small modding project after this project on the scheduled....sorry don't ask what it is, I won't reveal the topic just yet because I gotta to order some special tool for it.

Here we go.
Keyboard and mouse facing are primed with dark grey primer.
Stage one: 5 coats of solid red colour base before applying the glitter effects. There are some orange peel effect on the mouse, that's need to be eliminate first before I can move on to stage two.
Well....if you're wondering why I picked red colour because this keyboard/mouse will be using with MIIF rig (P180 project).
I thought why not go with red on black colour scheme as well and add glitter effects to it to tone down the red hot colour.
This is one reason I used dark grey primer as base so it can gives a subdue red instead of bright bright red.
Special fx next.
