never owned a 7970 but even in a q6600 rig a 7950 will do 100K ppd Boinc and in a 3770K rig around 130K which is one every 40 seconds or thereabouts ...you could get closer to 30 seconds.

You should find that 10 or more concurrent wu's is good

I suggest you run Boinc 7.0.54 or later as since that one you can change the number of concurrent wu's running by changing your app_config file then from manager: advanced>read config file.

You are saying I should be completing a unit in 40 seconds? That would be incredible! Fastest I have seen on my systems is 5minutes 30 seconds. One current rig with a W3580 and a single 5850 running four units at a time takes about 16 minutes to complete each.

So after an extended downtime of minimal crunching, I finally got my rigs back up to snuff. Now I should be churning out about 10x the output of my recent activity.

Team Pureoverclock is on the cusp of a sub-800 ranking. Need more crunchers!

I'm curious to see if I can clock my 6970 at 1100MHz, and on top of that, see the gain (if any)

    Is anyone still participating in this because if not, I would really like to revive it. I have 3 systems I can/do incorporate and they are as follows;

    Main Rig:
    i7 920 @ 4GHz HT On
    HD 6970 @ 1000MHz

    Rig 2:
    AMD Phenom II X6 1055T @ 3.6GHz
    GTX 680 @ Stock

    Rig 3:
    AMD FX-6100 @ Stock
    8400GS (useless lol)

So my contributions may not be big.. but still helpful. Anyone?

I have to say that when there was so little interest from Pureoverclock members I was disappointed, but it is a commitment of time and money so maybe it takes certain things happening in a person's life to make them want to help.

This has not stopped me crunching though....I just don't do it at POC.

I still crunch for POC. I have since I first came here a few years back. I've never even thought about seeing what kind of "numbers" I put in. Hmmm.

    Well done you.

Here you can see how things are going:

User Stats for HyperactiveSloth in World Community Grid

    https://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/u...st/0/0/29253/0

When we started this I kinda hoped that a few guys might stick with it and you sir have done just that and in the manner that this whole idea was designed for, that is to say just using spare cycles on your computer and donating them to the project.

I on the other hand caught the bug and built dedicated machines for this. I still crunch but for the original team that introduced me to WCG.

These days my 32 thread machines are getting a bit long in the tooth but still they crunch. I do this knowing that the results may find answers needed to fight various diseases. It likely won't benefit me, it might not even help my son or daughters but their kids I think will reap the benefits of all the kind hearted folk who donate for the greater good.

Although I am not here as often as I used to be, I still drop in every week and am more than happy to answer questions or generally help folks with this. The only thing I have no experience of is running it on Android.

Yeah, once I began running it there was never really any reason to stop. It just uses the computer when I'm not. Aside from a few cents a month in electricity that I'll never notice, it's not costing me anything. Some nights I shut down my PC when I go to bed, and others I'll intentionally let it run all night so it can do some good.

I will share one story with you, though. I've had a few people see my screen when I'm afk and ask, "What is that?" and I got used to giving a short explanation of how it works and usually got a polite, "Huh, that's kind a neat." My daughter, however, made me pretty proud when she first noticed it. She asked and I explained it (not needing to dumb it down despite her being only 10 at the time because she's smart and very computer savvy). I rattled it off while she stared at me and once i'd finished there was a brief silence with her still staring at me wide-eyed. I thought for that brief moment that maybe I had lost her, but instead the pause was followed by, "That's the coolest thing i've ever heard." Not gonna lie. That was a proud moment right there.
