Default World Community Grid - PureOverclock team updates

WCG Team PureOverclock was formed on 8/2/2012.

The PureOverclock WCG team is rocketing up through the wcg team ranks. That is to be expected at this point, as we are started with zero points and are passing up teams that fizzled out with low scores and are putting out nothing. We are currently at rank 9334. The competition should starting getting tougher around rank 1000. 10 million total points puts us around rank 500. 10 million sounds like alot, but it really isn't that much, especially if we have 10 + members putting out something daily.

Here is the morning update for 8/9. We are 4 members strong and warming up. Grumpydaddy happens to be ranked 374 in all wcg users; I am at 924 currently. The pie should look different tonight or tomorrow, as I brought a 2600k online late last night...

I will update this thread with current team stats as I can, but other team members feel free to throw in your favorite team or individual stats.

Team members post in here your milestones (point total you've reached). Mine next big milestone is 50 million wcg points. That translates into approx. 7,000 BOINC points.

(WCG points and BOINC points scale differently, as WCG is a project under BOINC, and the points are weighted according to some scheme...). I'll get to that topic later this weekend. Free-DC tracks BOINC points. The WCG website tracks WCG points. Clear as mud? No worries, you'll get the hang of it.

Team rank in my sig is lagging behind the free-dc stats. They are the quickest to update it seems, and the data takes time to propagate through the various servers.

Is there a way to show this same chart with only what has been completed since the PureOC team was started? It would help the new people judge their performance better. Right now it looks like I haven't accomplished jack S*8t since I started. lol

Here is our team total w/ individuals totals since we started. Free-DC shows BOINC points. 1 BOINC point = 7 WCG points.

So Cyber you have 3,221 BOINC points or 22,547 WCG points. You can go into "my grid" on the WCG home page to find out how many results you have returned (completed work-units). Different projects assign different point values to their work-units, based on things like complexity of work-unit, system resources required, etc.

Don't feel that your contribution is small it really only seems that way because I threw everything I have running at it for a while to get things started. I will not be able to keep going at this pace here. In fact I am putting together a cruncher so that I can just do the one here but I want the team to get a Million on the board as quick as we can.

I was trying to get a performance comparison number. A baseline on average output to compare to my own to see if I should be doing more or less. When the numbers of new members are compared to yours its harder to tell if they are doing ok or not. So I stopped looking at totals and started looking at the daily and hourly output numbers. They gave be a better Idea on actual output performance for my system.

Ok then, If you go to your "My Statistics" page on WCG on the left you will see "My profile" Click and sign in and at the bottom of the page is a tickbox called "show hosts" if everybody ticks that one then on the Free-DC Stats page you will get extra "Hosts" information about each individual machine

I currently have 3 working machines Top to bottom these are:

3770K @4.7 on win7 but it has issues still...not quite stable

i7 920 @4.0 on Linux but running 6 cores and having other work too.

2600K @4.7 on linux I have been tuning this one for work type and performance for some weeks now and believe it to be the top performing 4 core 8 thread machine on WCG

    Rig2: 2*e5-26xx (16c/32t @2.4), Asus z9 pe-d8 ws, 32gb ripjawsz under water, rig3 2*e5-26xx (16c/32t @2.4), Supermicro 7047A-T 16GB 1600 ecc reg, on air, Rig4: 2*e5-26xx (16c/32t @3.1), Supermicro x9 DAi 16GB 1600 ecc reg, on air, Rig5: 2*e5-2660 (16c/32t @2.7), Supermicro x9 DRW iF 32GB 1600 ecc reg, on air

No contribution is too small. Every work-unit processed has value.

1 million points, coming right up! Our first team challenge. Piece of cake, with 5+ team members turning in results daily.

I'm having problems getting into FreeDC stats today (the stats keep loading, but don't show up). I've never had this problem before. I'll try again tomorrow.

But on WCG home, my grid, stats, team I see that we are now team rank 7,893 with 1,468,513 wcg points. We didn't even break a sweat on the first million wcg points. Maybe you meant 1 million boinc points grumpy? At 209,787 we are over 1/5 of the way there. Here is what we have done so far:

There are settings that allow you to reduce the load on any rig. You can join in at a low load just to get a feel for things ...see how the temps are things like that
