PureOverclock WCG Hardware Giveaway Announcement
Here is something I have done on other WCG forums: A Hardware Giveaway.
This thread is to announce the first PureOverclock giveaway, discuss, set dates, and give people time to get their hardware together and join the team.
How it works: Team members (and others) post or PM me with hardware they want to donate to other team members, and I put up a list in the "official" giveaway thread. The giveaway will run for a week. Team members post or PM me with the items they want. At the end of the week, I do a random drawing for each piece of hardware, and post the results in the thread. Winners contact the donors to arrange shipping. Winners pay the shipping to the donor. To be eligible to receive hardware you must be a member of the PureOverclock WCG team, and you must have some points to your name (more than zero).
Why: To encourage new members to join the team, to thank existing members for their work, and to re-distribute idle hardware.
What hardware: Anything you don't want that someone else could use. For this giveaway I have to donate a Q6600 rig (mobo, cpu, ram, and hsf), an E7300, 4x1 Gb DDR2, an 8800gts, and some other misc. goodies.
When: Beginning 9/10 and ending 9/17. That will give some time to join and get a few points on the board. I will start a new "official" thread for this on 9/10.
We have 8 members currently, so I expect the hardware list to be short. That's ok, this is the first one. As we grow so will our giveaways. I have done these as frequently as every 6 - 8 months on other WCG forums, but with larger teams. That may work well for us or we may want to make it once a year. We'll decide that later.

The rules will look something like this:
Duration: To be announced in the upcoming "official" thread.
To play: You must be a member of the PureOverclock WCG team, and you must have some points to your name (more than zero).
To donate something: PM me with your item(s) to donate, or post it in this thread, by (date). I will build the hardware list in this post. Please let me know if you have any shipping constraints.
To receive something: PM me with the name & number of the item(s) you want, or post it in this thread, by (date). If there are multiple items under your requested name/number, please specify which one(s) or how many you want. You can request as many items as you want. Be specific please.
Shipping: Hardware recipients pay shipping. Hardware donors may pay shipping if they choose, but as a general rule, recipients pay shipping costs.
Limits: One big-ticket item per recipient (current generation hardware or something of significant value). Multiple smaller-ticket items per recipient possible (previous hardware generations or abundant items).
- Recipients determined by name drawing, to be held on (date), or shortly thereafter. Expect the recipient list to be posted by (date), in this post.
- Hardware recipients are responsible for contacting the donors and coordinating shipping.
- Please use your new hardware to crunch work-units for the team. PureOverclock WCG thanks you.
